I don’t know how committed I am to being a photographer. I like reading about it, collecting equipment, and sometimes even making photographs. It’s not a day-to-day thing. It’s not that I’m not in a creativity funk. I find that if I’m not thinking photography, I may be thinking music, or other creative outlets. So, it was with eagerness that I decided to join the #igers413 gang for a get together at Mill180 Park in Easthampton, MA. I was happy to meet a few photographers, wander around and take in this very clever and useful community resource, and think about making an image or two.
I found this shadow on the lower level of the building. The indoor park is accessible via the second floor and you have to cross a footbridge to get in. I waited for the right combination of people to fill out the composition.
Inside, there was something to look at in every direction, including up.
After a while, the group of photographers went outside to visit a small park and go out onto a pond. People there were ice fishing. I found myself drawn more to this interesting shadow from the basketball pole and hoop.
I noticed what looks like a broken LCD panel from a smart phone. I picked it up and put it on a post and made this photograph. I left it there for the next person with a camera.
